Guggenheim Investments is seeking an exceptional candidate to join its European Corporate Credit team. The focus of the role is the analysis of a broad range of companies and sectors in the European corporate credit market and development of investment recommendations. Coverage includes syndicated leveraged loans and high yield bonds, as well as private/direct credit, on a fully Pan-European basis.
Analysts benefit from comprehensive on-the-job training and ongoing mentorship, as well as the opportunity to interact with and learn from senior investment professionals on a daily basis. Seeking to make hires at Associate, Senior Associate or Vice President level for the European credit investment team.
• Evaluation of new investment opportunities through:
• Undertaking detailed due diligence of target companies and sectors.
• Financial statement and balance sheet analysis.
• Constructing detailed financial models and investment memos.
• Attending meetings with management of potential investee companies (some travel required).
• Continuous monitoring of performance of existing portfolio companies.
• Participation in investment committee discussions.
• Prior coverage of companies in healthcare and/or cyclical sectors is desirable but not essential.
• Some experience in an investment-related role (e.g. credit/equity analyst, corporate finance/development role) required for Associate to Vice President candidates, none for Analyst candidates.
• An excellent academic background including a minimum of 2:1 Honours degree in a Finance/ Quantitative/ Business Studies/ Legal/ Engineering discipline.
• CFA or ACA qualification is desirable.
• Excellent analytical ability, business acumen and demonstrated desire to work within the investment management industry.
• Strong Excel skills, given the role’s focus on financial modelling.
• Good verbal and effective written communications skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver reports and presentations to allow Investment Committee allocate capital.
• Strong self-motivation, desire to listen and to learn, and ability to work autonomously.
• Prior coverage of companies in business services, chemicals, financial and consumer sectors is desirable but not essential.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in an investment-related role (e.g. credit/equity analyst, corporate finance/development role).
• An excellent academic background including a minimum of 2:1 Honors degree in a Finance/ Quantitative/ Business Studies/ Legal/ Engineering discipline.
Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
