Your Role

The SAP Support engineer for Italy is a member of RTB team (run-the-bank) who helps in steering the production support activities for software applications and works closely with the Development, solution architecture and QA practices to ensure code and design integrity of the fixes (hot fixes, patches). (S)he will follow the internal DB Best Practices and Governance procedures and working closely with ITAOs and CTB colleagues to ensure traceability and maintainability of all production releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, and document ABAP code used in DB;
  • Provide optimization, enhancement and O&M support for ABAP applications which perform financial and business management functions on SAP instances;
  • Participate in the analysis of the customer's business operations to validate requirements and scope, suggest process improvements, and assist in level of effort (LOE) estimation, if required;
  • Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents, and conduct unit, integration, and release testing to validate functionality;
  • Support end-users Acceptance Testing activities, and participate in Production Operations and Release Management support;
  • Experience extending SAP standard functionality using ABAP Objects and other modern SAP technologies. 
  • In your role, you will be integrated in a multi-location team and work closely together with the Italian peers:  product owner, the scrum master and other engineers to achieve the expected outcome.
  • As a technical SAP support engineer, you work together with other internal and external developers and testers, to ensure the implementation of best-fit solutions and fixes for the existing platform;
  • You provide support in analyzing and solving production problems;
  • Together with the testing team, you define functional test cases for the changes;
  • You will be responsible for Application Management: Application Support (Control and Monitoring), Incident Management, Service Request Management;
  • Evaluate area of improvements for system performance, system stability and ensure that solutions are implemented including on-boarding application to various approved bank tools for stability, monitoring etc.
  • Manage relationship with Business (eg. Communications etc.) and Vendors (eg. For incident management etc.);
  • Execute all required DR strategy in both test and non-test situations;
  • Interfacing with internal and external IT Audits and contributing to the audit activities;
  • Ensure availability of application documentation as per Deutsche Bank's processes;
  • Maintain different environments for UAT and production, including software upgrades.

We`d love you to bring:

  • A university degree in business administration, computer science or business informatics with relevant knowledge in the IT sector.
  • A minimum of two years of experience developing software in SAP NetWeaver ABAP Stack environments (i.e. ABAP Objects, ABAP reports, ABAP online transactions, BPP, CPI and/or Web Dynpro ABAP
  • SAP Ecc (Sap Module AA – AR – AP – FI/CO – RE-FX – BW – SAP Analyzer);
  • Functional knowledge of the SAP standard modules in S4 Hana, e.g. FI-AA,FI-AR, FI-AP, CO, MM
  • Knowledge about SAP interfaces technologies, e.g. IDOC;
  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting, Controlling and Finance process are an advantage;
  • You have a positive attitude towards agile working methods with daily deadlines and short development cycles and ideally have initial experience;
  • Previous production support experience, with can do mind-set and attitude and hands-on approach;
  • Ability to analyse business requirements, defects and propose hot fixes;
  • Ability to work on tight schedule;
  • Ability to work effectively with senior IT and Business stakeholders;
  • Exposure to multiple global locations with various cultures and practices;
  • Fluent in English and Italian (written and spoken).
