Principal Business Analyst - Pricing

We are the Flutter UK & Ireland Trading Team - we predict the unpredictable, we think different, and putting our customers first, through innovative solutions and powering the performance of our brands Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Betting & Gaming brands at number one. This Principal Analyst role is based in the pricing function, which is a high performing function responsible for the delivery and optimisation of pricing strategies across the Flutter UKI brands.



What you’ll do...
As part of the pricing function, you will report directly to the Pricing Director and take on a lead role in the team. You will be using data and subject matter expertise to create persuasive arguments for commercial opportunities and product innovations. 

You will work within the UKI Trading function, connecting with colleagues from across the organisation to solve complex pricing problems and to identify new opportunities for pricing optimisation.

How you will do it....

  • Lead senior analysts responsible for the delivery of comprehensive analysis of pricing initiatives on our sports betting products.
  • Apply outstanding business tools and specialized knowledge to build comprehensive cases for proposed commercial changes and product innovations.
  • Oversee & support analysis of internal data, market trends and customer behaviours to inform commercial strategies and decisions
  • Leverage subject matter expertise to identify potential risks associated with commercial changes, including market reactions, customer impact and financial implications
  • Engage with collaborators, team members, and partners to compile findings and offer recommendations, ensuring clear understanding of risks and opportunities.
  • Proactively engage with cross-functional teams, including Commercial and Finance, to align commercial strategies with overall business objectives
  • Take a lead role in the team tracking the results of initiatives and providing regular updates to management on outcomes and insights
  • Stay informed about industry standard methodologies and emerging trends in pricing to improve the efficiency of the pricing function.


What we’re looking for...

  • Experienced leader with business analysis / data insights background and track record leading senior analysts.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, SPSS, R) and experience with data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
  • Ability to synthesise multiple forms of analyses into actionable insights to inform business decisions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about pricing scenarios and their implications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple topics simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative approach, able to cultivate strong and effective relationships both within the Pricing team and across the business at all levels
  • Ideally, experience working on pricing strategies / strategy projects in a large business setting projects and knowledge of financial metrics and their impact on pricing decisions
