The Group Integrated Compliance Functional Processes (IC FP) team at our Global HQ has a great opportunity for a junior Communications expert to help drive the internal communications and activation calendar to engage and excite our key internal and external stakeholders.
The team
The Group Integrated Compliance Functional Processes team is responsible for the design and implementation of global Compliances processes, facilitation of global steering, planning and budgeting, non financial risk management, as well as Group Compliance communications. This also includes working together with other stakeholders in Compliance, countries, risk verticals, business lines across ING but also other departments like KYC, Risk Culture and many more. .
As a hands on junior Communications expert you work together with the Compliance Communications and the Strategic Communication of NEXT, as well as the non financial risk management colleagues of our team, to drive all strategic as well as operational communications activities for Group Compliance on a global scale and make sure everything stays aligned and interconnected.
* Besides the BaU communication activities for Compliance, the Compliance function has launched its updated strategy “NEXT”. NEXT aims to
i) further and foremost continuously upgrade the Compliance function, i.e. further enhance effectiveness and efficiency,
ii) simplify,
iii) increase focus on data and digitalization and
iv) further harmonize our E2E processes, and
v) continuously grow and mature our population of compliance colleagues to stay fit for the challenges Compliance is taking on.
Role and responsibilities
Support Compliance communications strategy and execution plan for 2024-2026
Support NEXT communication strategy and execution plan for 2024-2026
Support NFR (non Financial Risk)management exécution with communications
Translate the Compliance function’s strategy, key business priorities and challenges into communication activities and concrete planning
Alignment of overall OneCompliance communication strategy with BaU communication activities, e.g. community calls, townhalls, Group Compliance events and newsletters.
Co-develop key storylines for the Compliance tone from the top and ensure this is shared and embraced, taking the (communication) needs of the global compliance community and other ING stakeholders into account
Initiate and co-develop new innovative ideas for the communications activity schedule and -channels, ensuring the mix of initiatives provide communication support to all Compliance risk areas (with new ways of communicating like podcasts, vlogs etc.)
Develop, organize and execute Global and Group compliance events, conferences and calls;
Support with Communication BaU activities such as newsletters, community building, people engagement initiatives, etc.
Co-create information and feedback loop with the CCO MT members to report on the effectiveness of the communications strategy (communications measurement dashboard)
Assist in managing external communications suppliers such as creative/design/AV agencies

As a junior Communication Expert you have the following traits and experience:
University degree or equivalent
(strategic) communications experience within a global/corporate environment
Experience of working on both strategic and operational level, not afraid to roll up sleeves whilst keeping the big picture in mind
Off- and online/digital communication expertise (e.g. communication strategy, live communication, community management, video content, branding, direct mailing)
Strong writing and creative skills, ability to draft storylines and narratives and able to produce engaging communications materials in a wide range of different formats and tools
Experience of working with senior management
Strong stakeholder management and project management skills
Experienced with MS Office suite, preferably including Teams, Viva Engage, Stream and SharePoint online.
Experience with and willingness to master (new) communication tools such as Spotler (e-DM applications)
Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
Professional-level verbal and written English
Knowledge of Risk Management and/or Compliance domain is advantageous
Experience with audience research and reporting (communications data measurement)
Innovative mindset: you are interested in new ideas to engage and communicate with audiences
