Internship -Logistics Purchase

Join the purchasing team for parts logistics services, improving tools and practices for buyers. Tasks include data visualization, automation, and stakeholder communication. Strong analytical and communication skills, independence, and fluency in English are required.

Team/division description

Do you want to take part in the development of the car of tomorrow? The Purchasing team at Toyota Motor Europe can offer you this challenge. Located in the heart of Europe, Purchasing plays a key strategic role in the development of our future products.  As a Buying Intern you will develop and manage certain aspects of the procedures used inside the Purchasing Department.  This position will allow you to have an insight into the most recent technical innovations and will enable you to get a deep understanding of how a leading multinational operates and interacts with numerous internal and external parties.

Your project

You will participate in the purchasing process of parts logistics services for current and future models/vehicles. Your focus will be to improve and further develop internal tools and business practices that will support the buyers in their daily work. Such activities may include:

• Logistics suppliers’ network coverage visualization
• Improving methods of accurately estimating certain internal metrics
• Developing/improving office automation solutions

Duties may be extended to include communication with external stake holders, but it will be subject to the candidates’ capabilities, interests and maturity.   

• You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
• You are currently studying a university degree or higher education in business, purchasing or engineering
• You are results driven and able to break down complex issues into manageable portions
• You have good communication and presentation skills
• You have highly developed analytical skills, accuracy and reliability
• You can work independently in multi-disciplinary teams
• You are computer literate (MS Excel, PowerPoint)
• You are fluent in English, another European language is an asset

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
