Responsibilities
- Involved in the day-to-day activities of the finance function.
- Preparing and reconciling expense related balances such as bank, debtors, creditors, accruals, prepayments and fixed asset
- Involved in the quarterly Group, Local IFRS and regulatory reporting processes and preparation of the annual financial statements
- Engaging with other functions with SCOR Dublin regarding finance matters
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and procedures and ensuing appropriate documentation and support is on file for all elements
- Assistance in preparation of the financial reporting and related filings of a number of small Irish non-regulated entities.
- Evaluate current accounting processes and related systems to identify and implement improvements/efficiencies/automation.
- Participation in both local and Group-led projects as required.
- Exposure to multiple platforms (e.g. SAP and associated systems and OMEGA), and engaging with multiple stakeholders (e.g. Investment and Treasury colleagues, consultants, Group, statutory auditors)
- Other duties as may be deemed suitable from time to time.
QualificationsRequired experience & competencies
- Previous work experience as intern or graduate in finance role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to connect with people at all levels
- Effective self- starter and flexible attitude
- Highly organised and efficient
- Excellent attention to detail
- Very strong MS office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- An understanding of accounting systems.
- Strong team player, with an emphasis on relationship building.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related subject, or equivalent qualifications
- Working towards an ACCA qualification, or equivalence
