Network Analyst

Maersk is looking for a talented Network Analyst to help build/enhance the global contract logistics operations. This person uses data to guide decision-making, has strong business judgement, and can think creatively about new opportunities. This role supports Sales, Operations and Finance by providing reliable, consistent and accurate insight and intelligence for our global contract logistics network.

The ideal candidate works effectively in a cross-functional environment and is comfortable communicating with both technical and business stakeholders.

The potential candidate will enjoy the challenges and rewards of working in a fast-growing organization and at a global scale to develop and support the analytic technologies that give our teams flexible and structured access to their data, including implementation of a data platform, defining metrics and KPIs, and automating reporting and data visualization.

You are a good fit for this position if you are an excellent communicator, knowledgeable about business intelligence, comfortable in a fast moving organization and excited about growing the careers of engineers. You should have broad skills in product management, business intelligence, defining metrics and KPIs, and applying analytical rigor to solve business problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for conducting proactive reviews of key leading indicators on service delivery and drive network stability.
  • Engaging our Terminal Planning team to drive improvements on terminal performance where required to deliver on reliability and service delivery ambitions
  • Engaging internal stakeholders such as ocean fulfilment teams to improve on the stability of our network and our ability to execute cargo delivery within the transport plan.
  • Proactive reviews of our Feeder Network and the split between Feeder Own services and Foreign Feeder services, to find the most optimal split between cost efficiency and service delivery
  • Engage with our central Network and Marketing team in Copenhagen for the most efficient, effective network deployment within the Southern Africa and Islands area
  • Manage and develop relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to gain support for reliable and cost-efficient vessel operations.
  • End to end ownership of business intelligence products, including gathering inputs from leadership and partner teams, roadmap planning and prioritization, promoting best practices, and mentoring and developing your team
  • Strong team player, vision and passion to drive business intelligence to create changes in business partnerships, analytics, and metrics/reporting.
  • Drive the design, development and implementation of our Operations analytics to provide stakeholders with structured access to data.
  • Champion proper adoption of self-service analytic tools and reporting environments.
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards that monitor and to drive key business decisions. Drive development of tools, automation, and new innovative and insightful reports
  • Support last mile, transportation and sortation business teams with data and analytical needs

What we are looking for

  • Hands-on analytics work experience with proven quantitative orientation, Network Design & Optimization, Simulation
  • Skilled in Operational Research, Power BI + SQL
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively develop and communicate clear, thoughtful, and comprehensive analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload and roadmaps
  • Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data.
