Description

The Jr. IT Disaster Recovery Specialist is responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, scheduling, follow up, problem resolution and status reporting on global Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery testing and projects.  The Jr. Specialist will liaise with members of the Business Continuity and IT teams and assist with BCP/DR projects.   



Responsibilities

  • Professional email and phone communication with teams across many countries and time zones. This includes scheduling and leading conference calls.

  • Utilizing our Service Desk online tool to search and create Change Orders, Request tickets, as well as maintaining status in SharePoint.

  • Create and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery testing and metric reports.

  • Data entry and analysis of testing results using SharePoint and other online tools.

  • Develop and understand all steps necessary for a successful DR execution.

  • Coordinate disaster recovery tests for applications that have an assign a service level and are deemed business or enterprise critical. 

  • Work with the Business Continuity Program (BCP) to ensure the disaster recovery (crisis management / corporate incident management) and business continuity plans drive disaster recovery (DR) strategy and procedures.

  • Work with the IT technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.

  • Perform analysis of processes and documents and develop workflows for system recovery and return to production. 

  • Manage and maintain disaster recovery documents by updating application decommissions and infrastructure/platform changes. 

  • Manage and update new technology requests to ensure SaaS applications have been vetted for DR.

  • Assist with bill of materials (BOM) and change order tasks to ensure DR qualification tests are performed for new applications requiring DR.

  • Define, develop and deliver training and preparedness regarding IT DR processes.

  • Assist management with development of DR risks and strategic processes.



Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 1 – 3 years of technology experience

  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; Must be able to communicate professionally

  • Ability to be self-directed when required; Self-starter

  • Organized and able to keep track of many tasks at one time.  Able to prioritize work according to deadlines.

  • Availability and willingness to travel occasionally to other Citco locations for business.

  • Familiar with IT operations

  • Familiar with project management principles

  • Clear communication and writing skills
