For this journey we are seeking a Data Analyst capable of improving business decision-making by delivering useful data products and valuable insights.
What will you do as a Data Analyst?
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the identification and development of new data & analytics solutions and the improvements of existing data & analytics solutions. Your role is translating business requirements into data-driven solutions by analyzing and modeling the data (products) and creating appealing visualizations. You will make a significant contribution to the digital transformation Vopak is currently in.
As a Data Analyst, you will be a member of the global data product management team. You maintain close relationships with business subject matter experts, business unit data analysts and end users of the solutions as well as with data scientists, data engineers and data architects. What do we expect from you as a Data Analyst?
The ideal candidate enjoys discovering and solving business problems. The role involves ongoing contact with a wide range of colleagues from different departments in a decentralized and international environment. This requires excellent influencing and communication skills, including a high level of written and spoken English.
Bachelor / Master degree in Business Informatics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with Cloud data platform (Snowflake), data catalog tooling (data.world) & data visualization tooling (Qlik Sense)
Experience with agile scrum way of working
Experience with using SQL
Demonstrated strong teamwork skills
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skill

Key Responsibilities:
Translate business requirements into data visualizations and data products
Create data models and data pipeline specifications and ensure compliance with data governance requirements
Ensure data products are findable, accessible, interoperable and well described in our data catalog
Work together with data architects to model the data
Work together with data engineers to create the data pipelines
Develop appealing, trusted and easy-to-use data visualizations
Establish and monitor processes that ensure the data products are in accordance with the requirements of the data consumers and SLAs. Timely act upon incidents and problems to ensure operation is restored according to its service levels
Estimate effort and time required to develop the user stories. Supports the IT Service Delivery manager and Data Product Managers in planning the sprints.
Performs peer reviews on data models and visualizations developed by other data analysts
Optimizes the usage of data & analytics solutions
