As a Dev Engineer you will be working in one of the content squads within Collections. The squad consists around 6 people within the IT Area “Collections & Generics”.

It’s a team responsible for designing, configuring and testing. Maintenance takes place in another team that is responsible for the application PowerCurve, the debt collections system within ING.

The Team:

The squad is a multidiscipline squad which means the squad is overall responsible. Besides helping us with testing the new functionalities in PowerCurve, we need your help for configuration and testing the improvements in PowerCurve. You work closely with other teams that are also involved with PowerCurve and automated testing. You take initiative in coordinating dependencies with others and you feel responsible for the quality and availability of our products. Scrum, Agile and Continuous Integration / Delivery are very important within our Area. In the past two years the team became more mature in automated testing and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery but there is still room for improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • BusDev squads are responsible for the designing, configurating and testing the associated flows in PowerCurve.
  • A BusDev squad consists of three roles: Customer Journey Expert, Development Engineer/Tester and DataAnalist.
  • The BusDev team is responsible for the Development, Quality Assurance of their flows.
  • We operate according to the Scrum Agile development process and strongly believe in the BusDev approach to deliver successful IT solutions within CoE Collections.
  • Our focus is on high-quality mission-critical software delivered in time using iterative development with regular milestone demos to the business, so that at the end there are no surprises about what we build.

How to Succeed:

We believe that business value is delivered by Agile top Engineers working together in high performing BusDev  teams, according to the Scrum framework. We are looking for true team-players that are technically passionate, proud of their craft, solution-focused and broadly developed (able to design, develop, test, deliver and maintain high-quality software solutions for our customers).

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience inSQL, PowerCurve, Linux systems, networks and virtualization (Docker, Virtual Box), Databases (Oracle), Jenkins, Git(lab) and Artifactory, Broad experience in technical testing.
  • You continuously learn and take full ownership of your personal development. You are curious and understand the latest developments in the technical and financial services.
  • You have experience with test-automation and development
  • You teach, coach and train our colleagues, you share knowledge.
  • You have a good understanding of banking in general or you are passionate about learning it. You are able to discuss with your stakeholders and product owners about features and stories and can translate these into software with real business value.
  • You have a broad understanding of the IT architecture of your domain, have excellent analytical skills and can determine the impact of certain choices. You can translate these principles into concrete actions for your team.
  • You recognize yourself in ING’s Orange Code and apply it to push your team to the highest possible performance
