About this role: 

As a People Technology Developer, you will be part of the People Technology Development team responsible for the Product Area of ‘People Services’ which includes Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence and Core HR related systems. You will design, deliver and maintain solutions across a variety of systems related to your Product Area including Workday.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role: 

• Manages projects throughout the product life cycle, ensuring successful outcomes from requirements gathering to ongoing maintenance.
• Contributes actively to the architectural direction of HR Technology.
• Acts as a mentor and support system for specialists, facilitating communication between senior developer and development managers to empower meaningful contributions.
• Independently oversees large cross-functional projects, guiding junior professionals and ensuring smooth execution with minimal supervision.
• Makes informed decisions within their expertise and develops holistic solutions to address product challenges comprehensively.
• Utilises POCs and prototypes to accelerate progress and fosters the adoption of innovative practices for enhanced product quality.
• Sets and maintains quality standards across project teams, ensuring alignment with the wider HR and People technology strategy 
• Communicates with stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure alignment across the product area, fostering collaboration and understanding.

What will you bring to the table?

• Significant specialised depth and breadth of work experience in People technology.
• Extensive experience with integrations including Workday Studio, APIs, PECI, JSON, XML, XSLT, Workday connectors. 
• Workday Extend or general software development experience and knowledge of programming languages is a plus.
• Has extensive and varied systems and integrations knowledge, including  some functional Workday knowledge in the areas of Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence and Core HR to be able to get quickly up to speed on different projects or issues. Knowledge on US payroll is a plus and a proven track record in successfully managing large-scale payroll implementations.
• Proactively seeks opportunities to initiate new ideas/changes, developing original and fresh improvements to own work, sharing ideas and encouraging others to do the same.
• Prioritises the end-user perspective, consistently delivering high-quality solutions, and ensuring that day-to-day work adds tangible value to stakeholders and end-users.
• Develops strong rapport with stakeholders through effective communication, and proactively builds relationships across HR and the wider business for mutual understanding and collaboration.
• Experience working with an Agile methodology is a plus
