Job Description

As a lab analyst working with the characterization team, you will be performing analytical method development with minimal assistance on ICP-OES and ICP-MS systems to test impurities in raw material. After development, participate to method validation and transfer to release Plant (laboratory work and data review).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in the laboratory on feasibility, development and validation / transfer of analytical methods on raw materials, essentially ICP-OES and ICP-MS methods.
  • Use current physical, chemical and physicochemical techniques in accordance to GMP and local procedures.
  • Document results in electronic laboratory notebook according to established GDP procedures.
  • Interpret experimental data and present conclusions to supervisor, project leader and management (in English).
  • Maintain laboratory reagents, materials and equipment as directed, including obtaining such items, maintaining materials and equipment in good operating order.
  • Adhere to the quality system requirements and ensure GMP and GDP standards; also adhere to general and specific environmental, health and safety guidelines.
  • Participate to the creation/update of analytical procedures.
  • Participate in investigations.
  • Adhere to pharmaceutical guidelines (USP, ICH, EP). 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in chemistry / chemical engineering or related field.
  • Fluent communication skills in English. French is nice to have.
  • Possess a good technical knowledge on ICP-OES/MS techniques with previous experience on development, validations or investigation on analytical methods.
  • Ideally has experience on trace chemical analysis.
  • Knowledge of Compendial and other regulations applicable to analytical activities within pharmaceutical environment.
  • Able to identify and solve technical issues thanks to his critical mind and “out of the box” thinking.
  • Proactive, ownership mentality and result oriented.
