As a Functional Analyst you are responsible for elaborating and carefully documenting the functional logic of an application. Through business processes, use cases, user stories, wireframes, domain models, requirements (functional + non-functional) and other deliverables you will be prototyping the application. You will be taking the Business Analysis as input. Data Analysis, Data Modelling and documenting of Service Descriptions, user interface design, system to system interaction design, etc. in a format notation can also be part of your activities. As a functional analyst you will also be providing assistance in estimating workloads, defining project plans and detailed development tasks, documenting functional test scenarios, identifying risks and support successful results by performing daily follow up of the development team. To produce high-quality deliverables you will need profound knowledge of BPMN, UML and common development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum and RUP.

• Experience in writing User stories and product backlog


• Can function as Product Owner for development team


• Experience with BPMN


• Experience with writing use cases


• Experience with designing wireframes


• Experience with UML


• Experience with Scrum


• Familiar with Agile as well as Waterfall approaches


• Basic graphic design skills


• Programming skills are not required

Activities

• Write the user stories or the use cases for the application on a level that the developers can implement


• Interview the customer to find out the needs


• Logically structure the requirements


• Be the link between the developers and the customer : product owner if required

Responsibilities

• Delivery of the functional analysis, including business processes, user stories, use cases, and/or mock-ups


• Design a user friendly and technically feasible solution


• Document and maintain the scope


• Responsible for product backlog

Languages and mobility

• Resident in Belgium


• Fluent oral communication skills in French, Dutch and English


• Fluent writing in mother tongue (Dutch or French) AND English


• Geographic mobility – you must be ready to accept assignments anywhere in Belgium.
