ISS is hiring! We are seeking a talented and motivated analytical Research Analyst to join our French Corporate Governance team in Brussels. This is a unique opportunity to join our market-leading Corporate Governance Research team.

As part of the ISS Benchmark Research team, you will be able to further hone your expertise in a dynamic work environment. In collaboration with other members of the team or within the organization, you will be in charge of analyzing corporate governance data, financial and extra-financial information, and providing proxy reports on the general meetings of issuers listed on the French market, based on the ISS voting policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing corporate governance data, financial and extra-financial information to provide detailed reports on listed companies.

  • Providing vote recommendations for items proposed to the vote during shareholders' general meetings.

  • Engaging with issuers and institutional investors regarding shareholders' general meetings.

  • Answering internal/external questions related to proxy reports.

  • Contributing to the regular publication of research papers and to the development of ISS corporate governance policies.

  • Developing an expertise on the French market in corporate governance, investment, and shareholders' issues.

  • Engaging with stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Desired qualifications:

  • Good understanding of finance/capital markets and corporate governance topics, ideally with 1 to 2 years of experience in corporate governance on the French market.

  • Master’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics or Political Sciences.

  • Fluent in French and English, written and spoken.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • High level research and analytical skills.

  • Ability to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiatives, and collaborate within a team.

  • Appetence for taking part in debates on corporate governance and the implementation of the voting policy among team members; ability to support personal ideas all the while accepting criticism and contradiction.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends and/or under tight deadlines during the proxy season (peak in April-May).

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office apps).
